Away From Pretence

Birthday used to be a very special day for me since I was 2 or 3 years old. My memory infact starts from my 2nd Birthday. Members of my family and close friends know that how I made them count days one month prior to my birthday. Last year on this day my brother was taking his last breaths and left us all on 4th of August just two days after my birthday. I decided that day that my celebrations too ended with him forever.

Yesterday my little friends, my students not only surprised me but moved something inside me with their gesture of unconditional love. They were planning a surprise Birthday party for me from last three momths. Yesterday they came, locked me in a room and captured my home only to give me most amazing surprise by decorating it with tenderness. They did all this in such a planned way that I never had any doubt. They arranged each and every thing from cake to all eatables, drinks etc according to my choice and taste. The beautiful, honest and amazing cards they made are no less than lifetime Awards and certificates for me. These little pure souls free of worldly pretence with their pure love and true feelings made me so emotional and overwhelmed. They told me they are doing this especially this year as they know I’m missing my brother so they want to make me smile. Love finds us in most unexpected ways and places and sometimes in form of these little Angels send to us by God!

According to my Mom, my brother inspired these kids to send me smiles from heaven…
I have no words left to express my gratitude to these bundles of love! Here are their kind, innocent words in form of handmade cards…

  4. Belated Happy Birthday Meenakshi Ji!!
They really put in a lot of effort for your birthday and glad they did! For it’s a special day! I remember when your brother was in hospital on your birthday he still remembered it and had sent his wishes…he wanted you to be happy then and he still wants you to be happy now…that’s why he inspired these students to make it a special day for you! Dont kill your happiness please and be the way your brother wanted to see you like! Though he has gone far, he is still somewhere above looking at you and you being sad will make him sad too. Wish you peace of mind and heart!! Stay strong!!
