Yin and Yang

Shock# daily prompt # season 4# attempt 79

Nothing shocks her now
No slogans or names
She has been given

Neither acceptance or rejection
Or reaction of the crowd

She has raised herself
So high from this ground,
Wearing the most beautiful crown

She is queen of her world
Happy, smiling, shining
Without any frown

She needs no King for her
She is happy in her freedom
Making her own laws
Of her dreamland
Wearing the most sexy gown

Without the need to impress anyone
Or fear of any judgement
She has reached that stage
Where Yin and Yang are in balance!

Though her heart is still reserved
For someone very very special

Still she is not incomplete
Without anyone around!

    1. Thank you so much Akeela!

We all are in a journey to find ourselves. Don’t bother if it is going or come to a halt as even if it standby for sometime it has some lessons to teach.

When right time comes and we are ready we move on to other higher stages.

  1. Beautiful poem, Meenakshi. It reminds me of what we talked about this in our poetry class today because out poet of the day talked about tone finds the best of age in the self when we feel most confident. We all shared our thoughts.

      1. We studied Linda Pastan who is now 86 years old. She writes about every day things in plain language. After about 10 people read their choice, one person said, I felt like I had read them or had been those places.
She writes “The Time My Daughter Leaving Home,” O Married You”… comment titles. The one about best age. I said to me it was after I had cancer. I felt like I could be myself with apologizing, without proofing to anyone or myself, accepting what people offer me without feeling guilty. It made me think of the true value of life. πŸ™‚

        1. It seems to be a very interesting group. Your last two lines made me interospect. Recently someone told me I’m all right when it’s about giving but block myself when it comes to receiving. And we should open to receive as well. I’m learning that too without feeling guilt of accepting.

You are very brave lady Miriam defeating cancer you are living your life in a very brave way. I always learn new things from you!
          Much love to you πŸ’–

          1. It’s easier to give than to receive and accept. The first first time I accepted comfort and help from my family was when I decided to get a divorce. I was completely broken and in no position to be strong and helpful. My sister knows me so well. She said, “You’ve been taking care the family all your life. Right now it’s the turn to take care of yourself.” I accepted advice from my little sister.
We’re all learning every day. Thank you, Meenakshi! πŸ™‚

              1. When someone offers then accept it is a big step. The next bigger step is to ask for help. I know I still can’t do it in many areas to be vulnerable and admit that I need help and actually ask for help. One time, one person thought I asked for help and wanted to meet with me, I actually felt offended. I don’t know if I’ll ever be completely vulnerable πŸ™‚
