Self love; that’s important too
To live on a yardstick all the time
Is not at all wise
Gingerly walking down the steep
Of measuring eyes
That makes me go weak
Strengthening inner being
As outside world is nothing
But a reflection of
Inner self!
Let me be best version of myself
Not for any praise
But to live satiate!

This is true and beautifully said. It is exhausting to live under the impressions of perceptions of others. It is easier said than done that we simply rest in our own Being and act as called forth from within.

This poem is beautiful, Meenakshi. We only have one of a kind of this self. No duplicate. No pretending. Not another version of the self as you truly said that. We can only find peace when we are not competing or live in the shadow of others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

Thank you so much Miriam! With time we forget to love ourselves in process of keeping everyone around happy. We totally neglect our happiness and unless we are happy within we can never make people around us happy. Life becomes miserable.
I learnt so much from you about living life fully and enjoying every moment as we have no idea which one could be our last!
